Speaking of throwback retro acts, Alexander Rybak recently performed at the birthday celebrations of the Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden. And rather than making the expected “What did the Swedish Royal Family do to deserve that?” joke, I am here to report that Rybak performed an absolutely charming song that sounded like it was ripped straight from the pages of a Cole Porter musical. (And that’s a compliment!)
What a pleasant and charming video!
I love the swinging, big band iteration of Rybak, and want more of it. It fits him. His violin compliments the music. He doesn’t have to worry about seeming hip. If the Fairytale market ever dries up, this could be a nice alternate career.
