Okay, let’s get this out of the way right away: This is not a song about Meghan Markle. I know this song is in Serbian, and that’s the first thing you’re going to hear, but that’s just the way that Konstrakta reels you in.
In 3 minutes, she covers the superficial health indicators seen on Instagram, old wives’s tales about health, the wonder of the nervous and circulatory systems, her lack of health insurance, what the lack of health insurance says about the status of artists, and her hopes that God will continue to bless her with good health. Oh, and snuck into all of that is this lovely poetic meditation:

And she manages to do all of this with a song that is a complete earworm. I’ve been singing “Biti zdrava, biti zdrava, biti zdrava, bit-bit-bit biti zdrava, biti zdrava, biti zdrava, moya moya moya” for months. And I don’t even speak Serbian!
I know that Konstrakta is performing in Turin, but this video – her contribution to the Eurovision House Party – would be equally at home at Venice in the Biennale, because it is ART:
Please – spend a little time doing the homework on this song because I would HATE for it to be just thought of as a goofy joke song, when the layers of meaning are as deep as …. well, as the hydration in Meghan Markle’s hair.
